March 25, 2002  Intertek Testing Services Environmental Laboratories

Intertek Testing Services Environmental Laboratories has agreed to pay nearly $9 Million Dollars to settle claims that it violated the False Claims Act. Intertek contracted with the government to test air, liquid and soil samples for hazardous materials, for the Army Corps of Engineers, the Air Force, the Navy, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The allegations asserted against Intertek were that it failed to carry out such tests in accord with the requirements of its contracts with the government.
