May 10, 1995  Science Applications International Corporation

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and two other government contractors have agreed to pay $230,000 to settle claims asserted in a qui tam lawsuit filed by Peter J. Thorton, a former employee of SAIC. The allegations of the case were that the defendants failed to properly test electrical cables, and falsified the testing of certain cables installed at a U.S. Treasury facility under construction in Fort Worth, Texas.

As part of the settlement, Mr. Thorton will receive between 15 and 30 percent of the settlement for having filed the qui tam case.
