June 19, 2003  Sprint Corporation

Sprint Corporation has agreed to pay over $5.5 Million Dollars to settle a qui tam action filed by a telecommunications specialist, John Russo. The allegations in the suit were that Sprint knowingly passed through to the government costs and fees in excess of what the company was permitted to assess under a 2001 contract it had with the government.

Under the False Claims Act, Mr. Russo may receive between 15 and 30 percent of the $5.5 Million Dollar settlement for having filed the qui tam case.
