August 2, 2006 Eagle Global Logistics (EGL Inc.) Houston based EGL Inc. is to pay $4 Million to resolve qui tam claims raised by two private relators, David Vavra and Jerry Hyatt. The allegations of the case were that, while providing services to the government as a subcontractor, EGL inflated invoices for military cargo shipments to Iraq. As part of a settlement, Mr, Vavra and Mr, Hyatt are to receive over $800,000 for having filed the qui tam claims. See U.S. Dept of Justice Press Release 8/2/06
