Age Refining Inc., its former affiliate and founder have agreed to pay $9 Million Dollars to settle qui tam claims filed by a former employee, James Carrington. The allegations of the case were that the company provided false certifications to the government to enable it to obtain contracting preferences which the government affords to small businesses.

As part of a settlement, Mr. Carrington is to receive $1.7 Million for having filed the qui tam action.
