October 9, 2002  Electrolux

Electrolux Home Products has agreed to pay nearly $700,000 to settle allegations asserted in a qui tam action filed by Jay Weatherford, a former customs compliance officer of Electrolux. The allegations in the case were that Electrolux defrauded the government by failing to declare the value of certain tooling molds, assembly labels and parts that it provided to overseas manufacturers on entry summaries filed with the U.S. Customs Service.
