April 2, 2009 — Northrop Grumman Corp

Northrop Grumman Corp., its subsidiary Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Corp, and its predecessor, TRW Inc., have agreed to pay $328 Million to settle qui tam actions filed against the companies by one of its employees, Dr. Robert Ferro.

The allegations of the case were that the companies provided, and billed the government for defective microelectronic parts, known as Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs). The case also involved claims that the companies made misrepresentations about, and concealed certain facts about, the reliability of the HBT’s.

As a reward for having filed his qui tam claim, Dr. Ferro will receive $48,750,000.00.
